I've added units to all template fields (if a unit is given) in the study overview page. See r1206

Hi Robert,
This is better, however, some people use copy/paste to Excel from e.g. Internet Explorer, and that is possible but because of the units the numbers are not easily recognized as numbers anymore. Also, this generates quite a bit of extra characters in the table.
Could you move the display of the units from the cells to the header row? So e.g. Height (m) as header instead of displaying 'm' in every cell?

This would be possible, if it were not possible to have different units in one column. This occurs when subjects are added with different templates, where both templates have a column with the same name but a different unit (e.g. weight in kgs or grams for humans and mice). See for example  http://ci.gscf.nmcdsp.org/gscf-0.6.0-ci/study/show/355 and ticket #155.

It would be possible to create two different columns for those fields, but it sounds quite unhandy. I could also put the unit in a separate column. That way the unit is also copied to excel, but easily removed by removing a complete column. Another possibility would be to have a 'copy to excel' button, copying all data (without units) to the clipboard. However, this also has caveats, since some browser restrict access to the clipboard.

Which of the options would you prefer?

I see. Probably a copy function would be the most desirable option then, because other options would indeed mess up a view with different templates/units such as a human-mouse study. A 'download as Excel' button would be even better, but that probably entails a lot of work... And also, it would make more sense to make a complete Excel export of the study then (see #224). Closing this ticket because that exceeds the study overview.
