Linux Installation Instructions:

1. Install PostgreSQL and Apache Tomcat
2. Create a user 'gscf' with password 'dbnp', a database 'gscf'
        $ psql template0
        ...     
        template0=# CREATE USER gscf WITH PASSWORD 'dbnp';
        CREATE USER
        template0=# CREATE DATABASE gscf;
        CREATE DATABASE
        template0=# GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON DATABASE gscf TO gscf;
        GRANT
        template0=# 
3. Deploy gscf-X.Y.Z.war on Apache Tomcat
        cp gscf-X.Y.Z.war /path/to/tomcat/webapps
4. Access the application by browsing to:
        http://server.domain.name:8080/gscf-X.Y.Z/

It is also possible to allow a more user friendly URL for the end user
by using the Apache Webserver as a proxy (Apache + mod_jk + mod_proxy
+ mod_rewrite).

1. define the AJP connector in Apache's worker.properties
   file (/etc/apache2/worker.properties):
        ...
        worker.gscf.type=ajp13
        worker.gscf.host=localhost
        worker.gscf.port=8009
        ...
2. define an Apache virtual host configuration:

                ServerName my.domain.name
                ServerAlias www.my.domain.name

                ErrorLog /var/log/apache2/gscf-error.log
                CustomLog /var/log/apache2/gscf-access.log combined
